🧭 Cómo abordar esta lección
Hay 3 formas principales de futuro en inglés. Debes saber cuándo usar cada una.
- WILL = decisiones espontáneas, predicciones
- BE GOING TO = planes ya decididos, predicciones basadas en evidencia
WILL (futuro simple)
Estructura: will + infinitivo (sin TO)
| Pronombre | Forma | Ejemplo |
|---|---|---|
| I / you / he / she / it / we / they | will + infinitivo | I will work. He will play. |
Usos principales:
1. Decisiones espontáneas (en el momento)
- I'll help you. (Acabo de decidir ayudarte)
- Wait! I'll get it for you. (¡Espera! Te lo traigo)
- Don't worry, I'll fix it. (No te preocupes, lo arreglaré)
2. Predicciones (lo que crees que pasará)
- It will rain tomorrow. (Lloverá mañana — tu predicción)
- She will be happy. (Será feliz — predicción)
- They will win the match. (Ganarán el partido — predicción)
3. Afirmaciones sobre el futuro
- You will need a passport. (Necesitarás un pasaporte)
- The exam will be difficult. (El examen será difícil)
Forma NEGATIVA (will not / won't):
| Ejemplo | Contracción |
|---|---|
| I will not go. | I won't go. (No iré) |
| She will not work. | She won't work. (Ella no trabajará) |
Forma INTERROGATIVA:
| Pregunta | Respuesta afirmativa | Respuesta negativa |
|---|---|---|
| Will you help? | Yes, I will. | No, I won't. |
| Will she come? | Yes, she will. | No, she won't. |
BE GOING TO (futuro planeado)
Estructura: am/is/are + going to + infinitivo
| Pronombre | Forma | Ejemplo |
|---|---|---|
| I | am going to + infinitivo | I am going to work. |
| he / she / it | is going to + infinitivo | He is going to play. |
| you / we / they | are going to + infinitivo | They are going to travel. |
Usos principales:
- I'm going to study medicine. (Ya decidí: voy a estudiar medicina)
- We're going to move to Barcelona. (Ya lo decidimos: nos vamos a Barcelona)
- She's going to get married next year.
2. Predicciones basadas en evidencia (ves señales)
- Look! It's going to rain. (¡Mira! Va a llover — las nubes están oscuras)
- He's very tired. He's going to fall asleep. (Está muy cansado. Se va a dormir — es obvio)
- The bus is coming. We're going to miss it. (El autobús viene. Nos lo vamos a perder)
Forma NEGATIVA:
| Ejemplo | Contracción |
|---|---|
| I am not going to work. | I'm not going to work. |
| She is not going to come. | She isn't going to come. |
Forma INTERROGATIVA:
| Pregunta | Respuesta afirmativa | Respuesta negativa |
|---|---|---|
| Are you going to help? | Yes, I am. | No, I'm not. |
| Is she going to study? | Yes, she is. | No, she isn't. |
- I'm flying to London tomorrow at 9am.
- She's meeting her boyfriend at 5pm.
- We're having lunch at that restaurant on Friday.
💡 Diferencia: "I'm going to meet my friends" vs "I'm meeting my friends at 7pm". La segunda tiene detalles → Present Continuous.
Comparación de los 3 futuros
Esta tabla es CRÍTICA para el examen:
| WILL | BE GOING TO | PRESENT CONTINUOUS |
|---|---|---|
| Decisión espontánea | Plan ya decidido | Plan CONFIRMADO (detalles) |
| Predicción general | Predicción basada en evidencia | Evento futuro definido |
| I'll call you. (Acabo de decidir) | I'm going to call you. (Ya lo decidí) | I'm calling you tomorrow at 3. (Plan confirmado) |
| It will be hot. (Predicción) | It's going to be hot. (Veo el pronóstico) | — |
| Future tense | Future tense | Present tense (gramáticamente) |
